A group of students at a historically Black university struggle to make it through college.

This "All In The Family" spin-off centers around Edith's cousin, Maude Findlay. She's a liberal, independent woman living in Tuckahoe, New York with her fourth husband Walter, owner of Findlay's Friendly Appliances; Carol Traynor, her divorced daughter from her second marriage; and Carol's son Philip. Other characters included: Dr. Arthur Harmon, Walter's conservative best friend from their Army days--he and Maude were always at odds about politics and just about everything; and Vivian Cavender-Harmon, Maude's naive best friend from their college days who married Harmon in season three. During the show's run, Maude went through three maids: Florida Evans, Nell Naugutuck, and Victoria Butterfield; but Florida and Mrs. Naugutuck were the most memorable. Although it was a situation comedy, it dealt with serious and often controversial issues, much like Norman Lear's other shows "All In The Family", "One Day At a Time", and "Good Times."

Enter Patty Greene and Lauren Hutchinson, two freshman who tried hard to be accepted into these cliques. The only problem was they stood out like sore thumbs. Patty was brainy and wore glasses, and Lauren was overweight and had braces. Thankfully, two other "square pegs" accepted them. They came in the form of aspiring comedian Marshall Blechtman and New Wave rocker Johnny Ulasewicz (aka Johnny Slash). Still, Lauren and Patty wanted to be in with the cool kids who came in the form of Jennifer DeNuccio, a wanna-be Valley Girl; LaDonna Fredericks, the hippest black girl in Weemawee High; Jennifer's boyfriend Vinnie Pasetta, a John Travolta carbon copy; and Muffy Tepperman, who joined anything from JV pep squad to science fair organizer.

Sitcom about the antics between two twins, Kate and Allison (played by real life twins Liz and Jean Segal). Allison was always the serious outgoing sister, while Kate was more fun and laid-back. In the first season, the twins lived in Des Moines with the father Art, who ran a health club/dance studio. In the second season, the twins headed to New York City to live with their aunt Margo (who wrote children's books). Allison enrolls in design school trying to win points from hard-to-impress Mr. Arrechia, while Kate tries to break into acting.

Hope, a down-to-earth, happily married mom of three in Glen Falls, Ohio, had her tidy world up-ended by the arrival of her celebrity sister, Faith. Faith was living the high life in Hollywood as a daytime soap opera star until her soap's character, Ashley Storm, was suddenly and unceremoniously killed off on "The Sacred and the Sinful" by her evil twin. After a year under her roof wreaking occasional havoc, Hope can attest that you can kill the diva off on the daytime drama, but you can't take the drama out of the diva.

Aside from her career, however, Caroline's life is a mess, as is proven when she throws fruit out the window onto the street in a pathetic attempt to meet men.
