TasteDive Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 1.27.2025

Qloo Inc. ("Qloo," "we," "us," or "our") values privacy and transparency. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect data when you use TasteDive (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of data as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Commitment to Privacy & Data Ethics

Qloo does not collect, store, or process personally identifiable information ("PII") for AI model training or personalization. Our AI models and services are designed to operate agnostically to user identity. Qloo does not leverage identity for targeting, profiling, or monetization. Instead, our focus is on understanding cultural preferences and the relationships between entities such as movies, books, music, and restaurants.

However, TasteDive does allow users to input certain personal data, including email addresses, usernames, and first and last names, for account registration, communication, and security purposes. These details are never used for AI model training, personalization, or monetization and are handled with industry-standard security protections.

2. Information We Collect

We collect and process both non-identifiable, aggregated data for AI model improvements and limited PII solely for account management and security. The categories of data we collect include:

2.1 User-Generated Metadata & Entity Relationships

  • Classifications of Entities: User-submitted attributes (e.g., "romantic ambiance" for a restaurant, "luxury" for a brand).
  • Contribution of New Entities: Users may submit new entries, such as hotels, restaurants, music artists, and books, along with descriptive metadata.
  • Sentiment & Engagement Signals: User-generated sentiment classifications (e.g., positive, neutral, or negative) and interaction data (e.g., "saved" or "favorited" actions).
  • Contextual Tags & Labels: Users may provide qualitative insights into relationships between entities, enhancing knowledge graph accuracy.

2.2 Account & Communication Data (PII Collected Separately from AI Training)

  • Email Addresses & Usernames: Required for account creation, authentication, and communication.
  • First & Last Name (Optional): Users may provide a name to personalize their experience.
  • Account Security Data: Passwords and authentication logs to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Customer Support Correspondence: User inquiries and support requests are retained for service improvements.

2.3 Automatically Collected Data

  • Browsing & Interaction Data: Non-identifiable interaction logs, such as page visits, navigation patterns, and time spent engaging with content.
  • Device & Technical Data: Information such as browser type, operating system, general geographic region (non-precise), and connection timestamps.
  • Aggregated Recommendation Data: Insights about co-occurrences between cultural entities, improving AI-driven recommendations.
  • System Performance Data: Information collected to optimize service availability, detect issues, and enhance response times.

2.4 Third-Party Integrations

  • API-Driven Content Retrieval: We may integrate with third-party APIs (e.g., YouTube API) to enhance content recommendations. Any data retrieved from such platforms is subject to their respective privacy policies.
  • Analytics & Performance Monitoring: We may use third-party analytics tools to evaluate overall platform engagement in a fully anonymized manner.

3. How We Use Data

Qloo leverages user-generated metadata and anonymized behavioral patterns only to improve its AI models and cultural recommendation systems. Our AI does not use individual identity for personalization. Data usage includes:

  • AI Model Training: Improving entity classifications, sentiment analysis, and cultural knowledge graphs.
  • Enhancing Content Discovery: Understanding relationships between entities to improve recommendation accuracy.
  • Aggregated Consumer Insights: Informing commercial applications without exposing individual behaviors.
  • Product Optimization & Service Improvement: Refining algorithms and UI experience based on anonymized usage trends.
  • Security & Fraud Prevention: Detecting patterns that could indicate automated bot usage or other unauthorized activity.
  • Account Management & Customer Support: Managing registered accounts, authenticating users, and providing assistance.

4. No Use of Personal Identity for AI Training or Targeting

Qloo does not use personal identity, emails, or account-based PII for AI model training, behavioral advertising, retargeting, or identity-based profiling. Our AI models analyze content interactions, not user identities. No personal user data is shared, sold, or licensed to third parties for targeted advertising.

5. Data Security & Retention

Qloo employs industry-standard security measures to protect data integrity, including encryption, anonymization, and restricted data access controls. While anonymized data may be retained for model improvements, personal data such as emails and names are stored only as long as necessary for account management and support purposes. Users may delete their accounts and associated personal data at any time.

6. Your Privacy Choices

  • Account Deletion & PII Removal: Users may delete their accounts and associated PII via account settings.
  • Cookies & Tracking: Users may disable cookies through browser settings, but core functionalities remain unaffected.
  • AI Data Usage Transparency: Users can review and modify certain metadata contributions, but AI models trained on aggregated data cannot be retroactively altered.

7. International Compliance

TasteDive complies with global data protection regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and emerging AI governance standards. Since no PII is processed in AI training, compliance requirements regarding personal data access, correction, and deletion apply only to account-related PII.

8. Business Transfers & Assignability

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or corporate restructuring, all rights to anonymized, aggregated metadata remain with Qloo or its successor entity. Account-related PII will be transferred in accordance with this Privacy Policy, ensuring continuity of service while maintaining strict data ethics.

9. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any material changes will be reflected with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
