The Princess Who Believed in Fairy Tales surprised me a lot. It was one of those new age books I was afraid to read because I was afraid of what I would find. Lucky for me things turned out pretty well. Marcia Grad tells the tale of a princess (who is actually every single girl out there) and puts her in the real world with a magic touch. It's a fairytale but it's pretty real.The curse that befalls the prince, the journey of self discovery the princess takes, her imaginary friend, to an open mind this book is quite delightful for it reacts a profound and life changing journey. A must read and one of my favourites.

Matilda is a little girl who is far too good to be true. At age five-and-a-half she's knocking off double-digit multiplication problems and blitz-reading Dickens. Even more remarkably, her classmates love her even though she's a super-nerd and the teacher's pet. But everything is not perfect in Matilda's world. For starters she has two of the most idiotic, self-centered parents who ever lived. Then there's the large, busty nightmare of a school principal, Miss ("The") Trunchbull, a former hammer-throwing champion who flings children at will and is approximately as sympathetic as a bulldozer. Fortunately for Matilda, she has the inner resources to deal with such annoyances: astonishing intelligence, saintly patience, and an innate predilection for revenge.She warms up with some practical jokes aimed at her hapless parents, but the true test comes when she rallies in defense of her teacher, the sweet Miss Honey, against the diabolical Trunchbull. There is never any doubt that Matilda will carry the day. Even so, this wonderful story is far from predictable. Roald Dahl, while keeping the plot moving imaginatively, also has an unerring ear for emotional truth. The reader cares about Matilda because in addition to all her other gifts, she has real feelings.

Robert Sabuda’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is an enchanting pop-up book which, of course, is an adaptation of C. S. Lewis’ work. I have always adored pop-up books, and Mr. Sabuda is an extremely talented ‘paper engineer’. I just wanted to climb right into the book to join Alice in her adventure even with the sour puss Queen of Hearts, and the pop-ups and their artistry enabled me to do just that. Great fun! 5 stars!

Great read. Very touching story of the life of a Medium Psychic Healer and her guide, Grey Eagle. Rosemary born and raised in England had a harsh and cruel childhood filled with abuse and lack of love, marries hoping for love and gets deceit. Her troubles continue until friends show her her psychic powers are a gift not a curse, and teach her to accept and learn. The stories of those she helps are very touching, and will bring tears of joy to those of us who have lost loved ones and know they are still with us.

As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he'll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing.
